ABOUT THE SYMPOSIUM

This FREE, IN-PERSON, two-day community symposium will provide access to important panel discussions, case studies and interactive workshops. This immersive event is designed to deepen our knowledge and provide a space to discuss Lithgow's economic future, and will cover topics such as Food, Health, Energy, and Housing. Join us and share your ideas and projects, and provide input about what you would like to see happen in Lithgow, to ensure a vibrant future.

SYMPOSIUM SPEAKERS

  • Dr Richard Denniss, the Australia Institute - The Symposium will feature a keynote presentation by Richard Denniss, prominent Australian economist, author and public policy commentator, who will demystify what the economy is and provide insight into innovative ways communities are tackling challenges to keep their economies thriving.
  • Dr Michelle Maloney from the New Economy Network Australia will be sharing updates about the international and national 'Wellbeing Economy' movement, as well as Doughnut Economics and the Greenprints initiative in Australia, and will facilitate the overall event.
  • Other guest speakers and local speakers will be advised shortly. The symposium will feature a range of other guest speakers and local speakers, providing a fantastic overview of the issues, challenges and existing initiatives in Lithgow.
